• Question: Why is there skin on fruit and is it healthy for you?

      The skin on fruit is to protect it from the air or bacteria or from being dropped.. much like our skin protects us! Yes skins can be eaten and are a good source of fibre however some skins are not so pleasant to eat (such as those on a kiwi!)

      Exactly! Skin protects the fruit not only from bacteria and air, but also from animals that might want to eat it.
      Fibre in the skin is healthy but not all fruits can be eaten with the skin on, imaging eating a watermelon!
