A fungus called Phytophthora infestans caused potato blight.. it is a fungus which causes an infection of the potatoes (it can also infect tomatoes) and causes them to rot.

Potato blight is caused by a type of small organisms similar to fungus, is like a disease but for the potatoes. The problem is that it can spread easily if you don’t realise earlier.
