When people get type 2 diabetes their body either does not produce enough insulin (a hormone which helps to clear sugar/glucose from our blood) or the cells in their body no longer responds to the insulin produced – we are trying to find proteins which help our body make more insulin and make our cells more sensitive to the effects of the insulin we produce. By doing this there would be less sugar/glucose in the blood and people would have better control of their blood sugar levels.
