Coke like other fizzy drinks contains high amounts of sugar and coke also contains caffeine (which we also find in coffee and tea) both sugar and caffeine give us a rush of energy as our blood sugar levels quickly increase but what goes up must come down so while it make give us a rush of energy our energy levels drop pretty quickly after this increase and we feel tired. Given the amount of sugar in fizzy drinks the should be avoided and only consumed as an occasional treat.

Coke can be bad for us if we have too much of it but is okay if we have it every now and then.. this is mainly due to the sugar content and compounds used to make coke. An excess of sugar taken in this way (which is different from in fruit where we also have fibre and vitamins) can be harmful long term.. all fizzy drinks should be had in moderation for this reason.

Coke, as other fizzy drinks have sugar and other additives in it like caffeine. This type of drinks give us what is called empty calories: they give us energy but nothing else. When we eat a proper food (like for example a fruit or a steak) they give us calories (energy) but also a great account of nutrients that we need. If we are having this energy from fizzy drinks either we are getting more energy than we need (we drink Coke and eat the food) or we are not getting the nutrients we need (we skip the food because we have the energy from the fizzy drink). What’s more, simple sugars like the ones in the coke are absorbed pretty quick and that can affect the body in many ways.
      We should drink only water.
